Archived Interprofessional Education

Interprofessional education (IPE) promotes teamwork and improves collaborative skills for positive health care outcomes. Clarkson College students optimize their roles within an interdisciplinary team by completing IPE 301, a five-module course designed to provide an overview of health care professionals’ roles and responsibilities. The first four online modules (completed in the first semester) focus on teaching effective communication, collaboration and leadership skills that promote teamwork within an interdisciplinary health care team setting. The fifth module requires students to put their interprofessional skills into practice by participating in three IPE activities before graduation. IPE 301 allows students to practice providing ethical, client-centered care while understanding the importance of personal accountability and professionalism.

Approved IPE Events for Academic Year 2022-2023

*Students must attend at least 3 different interprofessional activities/experiences, one from each category, before graduating from Clarkson College. Following each event, students will complete the IPE Reflection through their IPE 301 online course shell (Module 5). All IPE reflections must be submitted within 90 days of event completion, so as to remain timely and maintain high quality reflection.

Below is the list of approved IPE experiences. Students can choose from recurring events, upcoming events, or even video recordings of past IPE events. New events are added regularly, so please visit this page often to see the wide variety of opportunities available to you.

If you would like to submit a different activity for IPE approval, please complete the IPE Activity Proposal. Please allow ample time (at least one week) between submission and when the activity is set to occur; this allows the IPE administrator time to review your proposal and respond back to you regarding its approval status. Please remember, all IPE experiences must be pre-approved, or they will not count toward your My IPE requirements.
